Planning & Zoning Commission

The Punxsutawney Municipal Authority Board is a four member Board that is a municipal body that oversees land use, development, and zoning regulations within a community. It reviews and approves zoning changes, development proposals, and site plans to ensure they align with the town’s master plan and zoning laws. The commission also makes recommendations to local government officials on policies related to growth, infrastructure, and land use. Their goal is to promote orderly development while balancing economic growth, environmental concerns, and community interests.
Length of term is 3 years. Annual election of officers is held during the January meeting.
