Patsy's Park

In 1979 the Borough asked for and received a grant from the Federal Bureau of Outdoor Recreation to create recreational facilities at Harmon Field and on Church Street.

The Church Street location was chosen as a neighborhood or "tot lot" for small children as it was felt crossing Route 119 to get to Harmon Field was not safe. Construction was completed which included a wooden playset.

In 1995, the Junior Women's Club of Punxsutawney asked to install new playground equipment in honor of Patsy Dunmire, a local teacher and member of the club, thus the name the playground is now known as "Patsy's Park".

Groups can request use of the park by calling the administration office of the Borough of Punxsutawney at (814) 938-4480.

Park Usage Rules

The park is reserved, free-of-charge, on a first come, first served basis.
A Certificate of Liability from your insurance company is required to use the park on a reserved basis, with the Borough named as co-insured.
All vehicles are to be parked in the parking lot only, driving on the sidewalks or in the Park is prohibited.
Bring your own garbage bags; garbage is to be removed at the end of your event. Please be sure to leave the area clean and recycle materials properly.
If restrooms are used, please flush toilets and pick up any dropped paper or trash.

No alcoholic beverages allowed.
Pets must be kept on a leash at all times and be with the owner. Owners must clean up after their pet and dispose of waste properly.
Please, no loud music, be considerate of the neighbors.
The Borough is not responsible for damage; responsibility will lie with the registered party.
Do not pour grease, oil or other fluids down any drain, including storm drains.
Park closes at dusk, unless otherwise authorized.
Donations to the Borough for the use of the park facility are appreciated.
